  • & reading: a living archive of literary kinship

An ongoing and evolving community, & reading gathers readers together around contemporary texts, especially by writers from historically marginalized backgrounds. Our goals are to support writers while they’re still with us, and to redefine what it means to be a reader in the first place — not as a solitary act of consumption, but as a shared practice of curiosity, co-creation, and exchange.

This is more than a book club: it is a literary salon for expansive readership. Through & reading, we experiment with what a reading community can look and feel like. We read rigorously, we read widely, we read sporadically, and sometimes we don’t “read” at all: we witness, listen, imagine, and respond. We do all of this to feel more deeply into our connections, build out our literary lineages, and pursue a joyful disruption of dominant cultural imaginaries.

  • Coming Soon: Virtual Imaginative Capacity Building Modules

For organizations hoping to spur on their own internal conversations about engaging the imagination and exercising creative muscles, & imagine is currently developing an engaging video series and accompanying resources and self-facilitation guides.

Featuring luminary guest speakers and presenters in the fields of poetry, fiction, music, organizational development, psychology, and more.

  • Coming Soon: Imaginative Leadership Cohort

Building upon the & imagine Imaginative Leadership Model, this cohort is for organizational leaders hoping to hone their imaginative leadership capacities in a community of practice and play.

  • Coming Soon: Imaginativeness Assessment

It isn’t enough simply to say that we ought to be more innovative or creative in our thinking and leadership — how do we go about tracking these skills, and building them over time? And how can we be sure that we don’t replicate patterns of extraction in the name of being more “imaginative”?

Our forthcoming assessment is inspired by cutting-edge research and multi-sector insights, and provides a clear picture of your creative, social, and practical imagination capacities.
